Der Trägerverein der Deutschen Journalistenschule behält seinen Vorstand für zwei weitere Jahre. Das entschieden die Mitglieder einstimmig am 12. Mai bei ihrer Jahresversammlung in München. Den Vorsitz führt der ehemalige ARD-Programmdirektor Volker Herres. Zusammen mit ihm vertreten BJV-Geschäftsführer Dennis Amour, Professor Dr. Hubert Burda und Dr. Oliver Friedmann die Anliegen des Trägervereins bis 2025.
Volker Herres bedankte sich für das Vertrauen der Vereinsmitglieder und gab einen Ausblick auf wichtige Vorhaben im kommenden Jahr: “Die Deutsche Journalistenschule hat als Institution der Republik die gesamte Medienlandschaft geprägt. 2024 möchten wir das mit einem Festakt zum 75-jährigen Bestehen der Schule feiern. Unsere Initiative ‘Vertrauen durch Vielfalt’ wird zudem eine vielseitige neue Generation erstklassiger Journalisten in die Redaktionen bringen. Es gilt, diesen journalistischen Nachwuchs weiterhin hervorragend auszubilden. Das gelingt nicht zuletzt durch den lebendigen Diskurs mit unseren Trägern.”
Getragen wird die Deutsche Journalistenschule von 60 Medien, Verbänden, Organisationen, Unternehmen und Stiftungen. Dazu zählen Zeitungs- und Zeitschriftenverlage ebenso wie öffentlich-rechtliche Rundfunkanstalten, Privatsender und Produktionsfirmen, Parteien, Verlegerverbände und Journalisten-Gewerkschaften. Gemeinsam bilden sie den DJS e.V., einen eingetragenen, gemeinnützigen Verein. Der Vorstand des Trägervereins ist das Aufsichtsgremium der Schule. Er sorgt für einen regelmäßigen Informationsaustausch zwischen Schulleitung und Trägern und beaufsichtigt die Haushaltsführung. Initiiert wurde die DJS vom Münchner Journalisten Werner Friedmann, der 1949 die erste Lehrredaktion gründete. Seither haben rund 2600 junge Menschen die Ausbildung zur Redakteurin beziehungsweise zum Redakteur absolviert.
