Neun Wissenschaftsjournalist/innen, darunter vier von der DJS, packen ambitionierte Projekte zu Gesundheits- und Medizinthemen künftig mit vereinten Kräften an. Dafür gründeten sie jetzt das Redaktionsbüro nerdpol mit Hauptsitz in München. Die Federführung hat die freie Journalistin Kathrin Schwarze-Reiter. Zum Team gehören die DJS-Alumni Lisa Auffenberg (49A), Claudia Doyle (53A), Nina Himmer (49A) und Stefan Schweiger (42K).
Schweiger ist Diplom-Soziologe. Auffenberg hat nach dem Journalismus-Master in Gesundheitskommunikation promoviert. Doyle machte vor der DJS ihren Bachelor of Science in Biochemie an der Uni Leipzig. Himmer studierte Politik, Philosophie und Kommunikationswissenschaft.
“Wir sehen uns als Gruppe, die gemeinsam auch größere Projekte stemmen kann”, schrieb Doyle in einer E-Mail. “Ob Magazin oder Webseite oder Texte für Museumsausstellungen – wir können uns da ganz viel vorstellen und fangen jetzt erstmal an.”
Die Journalistinnen und Journalisten bringen ein breites Portfolio in das Redaktionsbüro ein. Sie arbeiten für Sender wie den BR oder Radio Bremen, für Zeitungen wie die FAZ, die Süddeutsche und die taz, für Magazine wie Psychologie Heute, GEO Wissen, Focus Gesundheit, die Wirtschaftswoche und die Apotheken Umschau und für Online-Publikationen wie Krautreporter. Zu den Auftraggebern der nerdpol-Crew gehören auch Forschungs- und Bildungseinrichtungen, Stiftungen und Unternehmen.
Besonders vorbildlich: Das Team hat sich einen Kodex gegeben, den es auf seiner Website veröffentlicht. Darin verpflichten sich die Journalist/innen zu Sorgfalt, Wahrhaftigkeit, Respekt, Zuverlässigkeit, Unabhängigkeit und Transparenz.
