Our alumni association (Förderkreis der DJS) is a non-profit with approximately 1300 members. According to its statutes, its purpose is to promote school operations both ideally and materially and to support its students financially. It substantially contributes to ensuring the high quality of education at Germany’s oldest journalism school.
A small group of alumni founded the Förderkreis in 1990. Today, it’s a large and thriving community of graduates and other close friends of the school. DJS keeps members up to date with three magazines per year and gathers them for annual network meetings, which alternately take place in Munich and one of the other German media hubs.
Alumni can become a member of the association for as little as 60 Euro per year. Dues are considered donations and are thus fully tax-deductible.
